Most sonic devices rely on a high frequency noise, however, the Riddex Pest Repelling Aid makes use of the wiring in your house to disrupt pests. In addition to the ultrasonic noise, the Riddex repellent sends out an electromagnetic pulse which many smaller pests are susceptible to, as their nervous systems are small enough to be affected by external input. This pulse carries through the copper wiring of your house, making it an incredibly effective in-wall repellent across a wide area, up to roughly 1,200ft².

As long as you make sure to put it in the bottom outlet, it will not interfere with your ability to use the other outlet – a design feature you don’t always see in products like this. On top of this, the unit has an outlet built into its side, so you are not even losing the use of a single outlet. Those are two features unique to the Riddex Quad.

The Riddex also has a handy night light built into the unit which is convenient for small spaces like an attic or garage.

Since this Repellent works by making your home an uncomfortable place for a pest to live, you don’t have to worry about them coming back. As long as the Quad remains plugged into the outlet, it will continue to send out its ultrasonic repeller.

Admittedly, there are cheaper models out there but few offer this level of protection and the same features as this device.

Customer feedback on the Riddex Quad has been more mixed than on most of the products we’ve reviewed. Those who have endorsed the product tend to have heeded the manufacturer’s advice to give the device time to work, even up to a couple weeks in some instances. So if you have an active infestation and need immediate results then this product may not be right for you. However, if you’re looking for a steady pest repeller designed to fit into your longer term maintenance plans then the Riddex Quad may be right for you.

The Riddex Quad offers an array of secondary features that can set this unit apart from the competition, depending upon what you’re looking for. If you need a nightlight and want a maintenance free product then the Quad may be right for you. However, if you’re experiencing an active mouse, roach, or spider infestation and time isn’t on your side then the Riddex Quad may not deliver the immediate results you’re after. That doesn’t make it a bad product, it just means that your situation may lack the patience necessary to let the Quad build the momentum it needs to repel your pests.
